Many people stopped following me because “I stopped doing yoga”. Let me stop you there. I practice yoga EVERY DAY. I stopped sharing my ASANA practice. Let me drop some knowledge one time for the one time, for those who don’t know or may have forgotten. Yoga is comprised of 8 WHOLE limbs. 1. Yama, 2. Niyama, 3. Asana, 4. Pranayama, 5. Pratyahara, 6. Dharana, 7. Dhyana, 8. Samadhi . Yama is focused on our behavior towards others and ethical standards. 5 Yamas are:Ahimsa- non-violence, Satya- truthfulness, Asteya- non-stealing, Brahmacharya- continence, Aparigraha- non-coveteousness . Niyama is more so focused on how we deal with ourselves & self-discipline. 5 Niyamas are: Saucha- cleanliness, Samtosa-contentment, Tapas- (not to be confused with the style of food) heat; spiritual austerity, Svadhiyaya- study sacred scripture & self-study, Isvara pranidhana- surrender to God/Goddess/Creator/Source/The Universe. . Asana references what we do to our body aka our temple. This refers the poses and postures that you often see when "yoga" is mentioned or thought of. (Low key wish ppl would # ASANApractice, not yoga) . Pranayama. Prana is defined as "life force" and most people loosely translate this to "breath" (which is your life force). Therefore, Pranayama the control of the the life force energy which dwells in the breath. . Pratyahara means withdrawal of the senses. In this limb, we draw our awareness away from what is going on outside of us & around us & bring that awareness to what is going on inside of us. . Dhahra means concentration. . Dhyana means meditation. . Samadhi is the final stage, which is the ultimate state of ecstasy or enlightenment. . So YES. I practice yoga all the time, I just don’t feel like sharing everything I do + it’s not a process to always take a picture of. Me detaching from SM is Yoga. Me breathing IS yoga. Also, I have been feeling like Yoga has been so over saturated, Westernized, & capitalized, that I low key don’t want to put my Asana practice out there because I want to reflect the TRUE tradition of YOGA. {MINDFUL IMBIBING} // After the excess of the holiday season, many opt to go booze-free in January ( ), and some might reevaluate their relationships with alcohol all together. If you're someone who drinks alcohol, how do you feel about your relationship with it? What do you notice while you're drinking? • If you're interested in trying an experiment to encourage a healthier relationship to how you drink, I'll guide you through the steps of Mindful Drinking, as presented by . • is a conscious approach to consuming alcohol if you enjoy drinking and are not struggling with addiction. For those who choose to partake, it offers a healthy middle ground option between all or nothing. • It starts with taking a moment to center yourself, releasing as much stress as you can and mentally acknowledging what's up; how you feel. Then, consider the specifics of the night or event ahead, and try visualizing what you want to do, feel like, BE like? How do you want to be present for the company, to enjoy your drink? • When you finally get that drink in your hand (which is after you've taken your time to enjoy the process of considering your options and selecting your order), pause before the first sip: how does the glass feel? What is the temperature? How does it smell? As you take a sip, see how it activates your tastebuds and brings up memories. • Tune into your company or the scene around you. In conversation, challenge yourself to really listen- not plan what you are going to say next. Proceed this way- staying connected to the conversation you are having, while continuing to check back in with what you are noticing about your present state until this flow becomes natural. • Again, Mindful Drinking is for those who want to have a healthy relationship with alcohol, but it's not a substitute for a recovery program. Be sensitive to the changes both subtle and dramatic around you—and in you. Give yourself time and freedom to adapt to these changes and figure out what they mean to you. . . . . . . Day 3 KETCHUP for . I’m going to be real with y’all. The way that yoga challenges “get to me” is these monumental things and facets we are supposed to learn about ourselves in such a short amount of time. So that’s what I did was I gave my self time to chew on to settle into backbends & being of service. It’s hard to be of service when you’ve been locked in your house with your partner due to an ice storm for two days. Then go back to life and play catch up. When I was “ready” and saw the pose was backbends I thought about skipping it. Excuses: I have a shoulder injury, a knee injury, backbends make me feel all guarded and defensive, I’m afraid I’ll re injure my low back, I’m not as bendy as the other peeps on insta, no one will care about why I’m not doing it they will only care about it not being cool ETC. 🖤🖤🖤 I have however, been on the look out for that special someone to be of service to. And last night THEY approached me asking for help, they really just needed someone to listen because they already knew the answer. And the difference between giving advice and being of service is LISTENING. This person opened up to me and asked me about something they were going through,something scaring them. They had no idea I had experienced 7 years ago something very specifically almost exactly similar. As soon as this person opened their mouth I was like THIS IS IT. And I told her what I wish someone was there to tell me when I was 23 and freaking the fuck out thinking something was wrong with me. It felt SO good to be there for my friend. It felt so good to be able to share that part of my life with someone I care so much about. Because it’s the part of your life you’re not “supposed” to share. In that moment I knew that what I went through was to serve a GREATER purpose that manifested in last nights conversation and hopefully many more conversations to come.🖤🖤🖤

And believe that anything is possible when you have the right people there to support you.’ - Misty Copeland . • With everything that has come my way recently, I can find it hard sometimes to look to the future. Thursday night saw the 18in18 goal setting event which I hummed and hawed over attending as I’ve really been struggling with my usual goal setting - almost feeling closed off. However, I can’t tell you how glad I am I went. It ended up being a bit of a reunion with old friends, a big night of heart opening inspiration. The wonderful and led us so well, making it all seem so clear, achievable and I couldn’t have been more proud of them in their flow. It was a good reminder to me to spend more time with the people that inspire me, not to kick myself when I struggle but to break it down, and focus on the achievable things that I can do right now. There is always something. 💛 . • Not really sure why I chose this photo, other than is magic and I love it because it reminds me of a time I was strong, fit & healthy and that I will do that again.

Mental FLEXIBILITY⚡️A healthy human being is psychologically flexible. We need to be kinda like a river flowing between two banks—on one side we have structure and on the other we have spontaneity. ✨ The trick to maintaining flexibility is to make sure we don’t flood one side or the other. We want to have just the right amount of structure—too much and you get rigid. Not good. On the other side of our river of flexibility we have spontaneity. Again, we need a certain amount but not too much. If we go over the top on spontaneity we can flood that side and wind up with chaos. ✨ • Structure + spontaneity = flexibility • How’s your river?
